On the Season 3 premiere episode of Empire, there’s still plenty of drama left over from Season 2. In an unexpected twist: Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Anika (Grace Gealey) got married and Hakeem didn’t. But it’s still business as usual at Empire. Lucious is willing to do anything to make his streaming service a big success. He’s counting on his inner circle – including music mogul Vaughn – to help him succeed.
Vaughn is portrayed by French Montana. The 31-year-old Moroccan-born rapper was born Karim Kharbouch. He and his family left Africa when he was 13 and moved to the South Bronx. He collaborates often with Diddy and is one of Diddy’s “Ciroc Boys” — a group that promotes the vodka brand. Empire isn’t Montana’s first time on a TV show. When dating Khloe Kardashian, he appeared on her Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons reality show and he’s appeared on an episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York, among others. French Montana’s latest album, MC4, will be released October 14, 2016. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
