Chance the Rapper is going to drop a collaboration with Kanye West that goes way beyond the work the two did together on The Life of Pablo. The record will be called Good Ass Job, taking the title from Chance’s lyric about meeting Kanye. The title also echoes Chance’s single from Coloring Book, “Grown Ass Kid” with Alex Wiley and Mick Jenkins. And it means more than that still, too. It’s a loaded title from way back.
Chance dropped the news about the Kanye collab on Power 106, where he was talking about Kanye’s influence and how the phrase “Good Ass Job” has been “in my head forever.” That’s because “Good Ass Job” is what you’re supposed to get after college, according to Kanye legend. People have doubted he would make the record that seemed his destiny since as far back as The College Dropout. But here it comes.
