Sure everybody is talking about how Gary Sanchez is the best thing since Murderer’s Row. The Yankee catcher hit an astonishing 11 home runs in his first 23 games in the bigs, faster than anyone in history. Not only that, but Sanchez isn’t just a power hitter. He’s not just like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, smashing it over the wall with panache. Sanchez is also Derek-Jeter-Joe DiMaggio-esque, batting .400. Not to mention those echoes of Yankees greats Thurman Munson and Yogi Berra, who also wore the mask. Sure, it’s been just August. But the Bronx has really needed something to cheer for this year. Even Sanchez seems to know he’s got to do more than beat the hell out of the baseball to pump up the faithful. He’s taken on a cheerleader role on Twitter, too.
Fortunately this is a man born to wear the pinstripes. When he says “my Yankees fans” he means it. Sanchez is on Twitter taking up for the team and appealing to fans — because Yankees fans have been staying away from the mediocrity this season. Sanchez is trying his best to get them in the seats. It’s a hell of a thing for a rookie to take on. Gary Sanchez is not just a special player, but the kind of guy a franchise needs. There hasn’t been a phenomemon like this in New York since Jeremy Lin, circa 2011 — otherwise known as Linsanity. Check out Sanchez wooing the missing, saying “please keep coming out to support” the team.
Where my Yankees’ fans at? Ready to support your squad today? Lets go! / Dónde están mis fanáticos de los Yankees? Listos para apoyar hoy?

“Experts” say we @Yankees have no chance to make the playoffs…well we may just be young and naive enough to disagree. #NotGivingUp

And then Sanchez wants fans to know it’s the real deal, straight from the man himself.
BTW guys, I do have a translator help me with Twitter. Working on my English. But all these words come from me. Just with some help. Thanks.
