In the Nashville episode “After You’ve Gone,” while Juliette reunites with her former “Shenandoah Girl” costar Noah West (Derek Hough) and meets real-life superstar singer Kesha, Will Lexington (Chris Carmack) endures a devastating loss which prompts a visit from his conservative father Bill Lexington. Remember, Bill Lexington wasn’t too pleased about Will coming out as gay. But as actor Carmack says of actor Rex Linn who plays his father: “he is this great imposing Texas presence, but he plays it with such a soft hand. You feel like there is a chance that Bill, Will’s father, has changed and you can feel that from Will.”
The imposing Texan Rex Linn is known for his roles on Better Call Saul (Kevin Wachtell), The Brink (Admiral McBride), State of Affairs (Senator Burke), The Lottery (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs), CSI: Miami (Frank Tripp), The Fugitive (Karl Vasick), and JAG (Maj. Mark “Falcon” Sokol), among others. Linn is also recognized for his roles in the films Django Unchained, Cliffhanger, and Rush Hour. Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
