In The Good Wife episode “Verdict,” Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) is desperate to keep her governor husband Peter (Chris Noth) from returning to prison. It won’t be easy, particularly as she’ll have to go against AUSA Connor Fox (Matthew Morrison) and Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox), who’s representing Alicia’s former colleague Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry).
Before The Good Wife finale, Cary’s former colleague Geneva Pine will reappear. She was a prosecuting attorney in the State’s Attorney’s office when Peter Florrick was in office. She was often opposing counsel against Alicia. Pine is portrayed by Renée Elise Goldsberry. She’s also recognized for her roles on Law & Order: SVU (Martha Marron), The Following (Olivia Warren), One Life to Live (Evangeline Williamson), and Ally McBeal (one of the Ikettes, a backup singer!). Goldsberry is also an accomplished Broadway actress; she’s starred in Hamilton (for which she won a Grammy), The Color Purple, The Lion King, and Rent. The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9pm on CBS. The series finale will air May 8.
