Tom Fallis was accused of shooting his wife Ashley Fallis to death in their Evans, Colorado home on January 1, 2012. Her death was initially ruled a suicide. When new witness statements (from their neighbors) came forward, the former sheriff’s deputy was charged with second-degree murder in 2014.
In March 2016, a jury deliberated for less than four hours before finding Fallis not guilty. The parents of Ashley are in shock. Ashley’s mother Jenna Fox told ABC News 20/20: “I just can’t believe with all the forensic evidence that they had and all the witnesses who heard what they heard that this jury flippantly came up with what they did.” ABC’s 20/20 will air its investigative report on April 2 at 10pm.
