The new spinoff Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders follows an international unit of the FBI. Their job is to help solve crimes involving American citizen in foreign countries. In the series premiere, three American volunteers disappear while in Bangkok. The team consists of five main characters including the leader Jack Garrett (Gary Sinise) and IT guy Russ “Monty” Montgomery.
Monty is portrayed by Tyler James Williams. The 23-year-old actor is best known for his roles on Everybody Hates Chris (Chris), The Walking Dead (Noah), Ballers (Waterboy) and that time he played Jaleel White on Key and Peele. Fun facts about Williams: At 11, he played Jack Black’s adopted son on Saturday Night Live, and at the age of 8 he provided the voice of Bobby in Bill Cosby’s animated series Little Bill. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders airs Wednesdays at 10pm on CBS.
