I’m just going to let the headline sink in for a few minutes, and tell you that this is not a story from The Onion or a clip from a lost episode of Father Ted. A Catholic priest in Northern Ireland, Fr. Stephen Crossan, has been filmed snorting cocaine in his parochial house. In a room festooned with Nazi artifacts including “flags, hats and an eagle with a swastika on a plinth on his mantelpiece,” reports Joe.ie.
Fr. Crossan insisted that he is not a habitual cocaine user, although in the video he appears to be rather proficient at tooting a line of the White Lady. “It was just the one night and that was it,” he told The Sun, adding that he has a collection of all sorts of historical memorabilia, not just Nazi stuff. The video is from summer 2015, when the priest was reportedly on leave for depression.
