Former NBA star Baron Davis is playing basketball again. The 36-year-old Davis signed with the Delaware 87ers, the Developmental League squad associated with the Philadelphia 76ers. Davis is excited to be back. He last played in the NBA in the 2011-12 season when he started for a Knicks team that lost in the first round of the playoffs. Davis injured his knee in that playoff series and hasn’t played in the NBA since.
It’s not clear what Davis’s ultimate aims are, nor what the 76ers/87ers organization wants from the one-time great. Another real mystery is what Baron Davis has to prove in the D-League to make it up to the big time. The 76ers are currently 8-53. Couldn’t Baron Davis conceivably start for them right now? Because Baron Davis, if he’s healthy enough to play, can win you a game once in a while. The Sixers could reach double figure wins with Davis out there.
Thank yall for the love.. This is going to be fun …Get to hoop again Another step in a long journey. #humbled #blessed #stillgrindingtho
