The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 to win Super Bowl 50 Sunday night. The loss was the Panthers second loss in the Super Bowl and the Broncos third victory. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is expected to retire after becoming the first starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two separate teams. Manning also passed Brett Favre for most wins all-time with 200 but the Broncos defense were the stars of the game.
Linebacker Von Miller was awarded MVP after finishing with 2.5 sacks and forcing two fumbles that the Broncos were able to convert into touchdowns. Miller becomes the third linebacker to win the Super Bowl MVP award after Ray Lewis in Super Bowl 35 and Bobby Wagner in Super Bowl 48. The number one defense in the NFL, the Broncos forced the Panthers into a season high four turnovers and sacked Cam Newton six times.
