Allison Devane of Goodyear, Arizona is the founder of Teaspressa. Her gourmet tea shots can be prepared just like espresso drinks and enjoyed in tea lattes, macchiatos and cappuccinos. Why choose tea over coffee? With the exception of the caffeine-free herbal teas, Teaspressa blends have caffeine. But compared to coffee, tea is hydrating. That means a Teaspressa drinker can get her jolt of caffeine but without the jitters and/or steep crash.
From a marketing prospective, one big obstacle for Teaspressa will be educating the public on how Teaspressa works and its benefits. A Teaspressa Starter Kit sells for $40 – which includes two loose leaf Signature Tea Blends and a classic, Italian made stovetop Moka Pot. Devane will pitch her business on Shark Tank (February 26) which airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
