Actor Scott Eastwood is one of the contenders to play young Han Solo for the next Disney Star Wars spinoff. The shortlist reportedly includes: Miles Teller (Whiplash), Ansel Egort (The Fault In Our Stars), Dave Franco (21 Jump Street) Blake Jenner (Glee), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn), Jack Reynor (What Richard Did), and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson). Whomever is chosen will start filming in January 2017.
But the 29-year-old son of Clint Eastwood (the oldest of the Han Solo candidates) is not sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. He’s in Paris filming the action picture Overdrive. It’s about two car-stealing brothers who end up in the south of France for a big job but wind up at the mercy of a local crime boss. Eastwood and his co-stars — Cuban actress Ana de Armas (Knock Knock with Keanu Reeves), Parisian Gaia Weiss (Porunn on Vikings), and Englishman Freddie Thorp — have been posting lots of photos of them “chiling in the sun with the gang!”
