After a grandmother posted advice to young girls that they should date the nerd in high school because he could turn out to be the next Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook co-founder had a brilliant response: Be the nerd instead.
Darlene Hackemer Loretto encourages her granddaughters to date high school geeks because, well, because Zuckerberg was a geek, right? But on Facebook Zuckerberg offered the young women much better counsel: “Even better would be to encourage them to be the nerd in their school so they can be the next successful inventor!” Zuckerberg replied.
