On the Arrow crossover episode “Legends of Today,” Kendra Saunders gets a surprise visit from Hawkman, aka Carter Hall. Hall explains to her that they’re not who they appear to be…in this lifetime. “We’re lovers. We’ve been soul mates for the past four thousand years.” He breaks down the whole reincarnation process to her and the rest of the gang. “These people cannot protect you from Vandal Savage any longer,” he warns her. “In every lifetime, he hunts us down and kills us.” He’s done so 206 times.

Kendra is portrayed by Ciara Renée. The 25-year-old actress is best known for her role as Kendra on The Flash, which she will continue to play on the new series Legends of Tomorrow with her soul mate Hawkman (Falk Hentschel). Renee is also known for her roles s on stage. She played the Leading Player in the Tony Award winning Broadway revival of Pippin. She also played The Witch in Big Fish on Broadway. Arrow airs Tuesdays at 8pm on CW.
