Every year Barbara Walters curates a list of “The 10 Most Fascinating People.” This year the list includes actors Bradley Cooper, comedians Tracy Morgan and Amy Schumer, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, and ballerina Misty Copeland, among others.
During her interview with Amy Schumer, Walters asks Schumer to discuss how she got drawn into the public conversation about gun control. Her involvement came out of tragedy. It was during a screening of Schumer’s film Trainwreck that disturbed gunman John Russell Houser walked into a Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater and opened fire, killing two people and injuring nine before he shot himself. “Knowing it was my movie, I did feel some distant sense of responsibility,” says Schumer. “Did this animal seek out my movie? From the way he felt about women, it sounds like he did.” When Walter asks Schumer if she’s frightened. Schumer says no. “I’ve gotten death threats for almost 10 years just from doing standup. So, I’m kinda used to them,” Schumer reveals. Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015 will air December 17 at 9:30pm on ABC.
