Blue Origin is the space endeavor of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Its space vehicle New Shepard – named in honor of American astronaut Alan Shepard – is designed to carry six people up to 329,839 feet (100.5 kilometers) and return them safely to the launch site in West Texas. Bezos refers to New Shepard as “the rarest of beasts—a used rocket.”

According to Blue Origin, “Blue Origin astronauts will experience the thrill of launch atop a rocket, the freedom of weightlessness, and views through the largest windows to ever fly in space.” Blue Origin posted a 3:13 video of the launch with rocking music on YouTube (see below). The video demonstrates how people will one day go to space in the rocket and float through 4 minutes of weightlessness and “see breathtaking views beyond the biggest windows in space” and “witness the thin limb of Earth’s atmosphere.”
