The Middle episode ‘Risky Business’ is aptly named as Mike Heck (Neil Flynn) announces that he wants in on his unreliable, unsuccessful brother’s latest, crazy business scheme. His brother, Orvilee “Rusty” Heck, is portrayed by the legendary deadpan comedian Norm MacDonald. Since leaving Saturday Night Live in 2009, fans haven’t seen much of MacDonald. But the coy Canadian is making a comeback.

MacDonald is currently playing KFC’s Colonel Sanders on TV commercials (he replaced fellow former SNL cast member Darrell Hammond). And he made a big splash with his sour commentary on Last Comic Standing with Roseanne and Keenen Wayans. (Norm was a writer for the Roseanne show before SNL.) MacDonald’s latest project is a sitcom called Sunnyside. It’s about a Canadian comedy sketch show. And he’ll make an appearance in the forthcoming Adam Sandler movie The Ridiculous 6 with other SNL alums including David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Will Forte. The Middle airs Wednesdays at 8pm on ABC.
