On Tyra Banks’ morning talk show, FABLife, Empire star Grace Gealey confirmed that she and co-star Trai Byers are engaged. Gealey plays Anika Calhoun, Lucious Lyon’s former girlfriend, on Empire. On the set of the FOX show, Gealey met co-star Trai Byers in 2014. They’ve been dating ever since.

The 31-year-old bride-to-be has her MFA from the University of California, Irvine. She spent a lot of time in Off-Broadway productions before landing the role of Anika on Empire. Byers is 32-years-old and, besides Andre Lyon, he’s best known for his roles on All My Children and, more recently, in the film Selma, in which Byers portrayed civil rights activist James Forman. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Fox.
