The singing duo Jubal & Amanda of Tulsa, Oklahoma sang “Seven Bridges Road” at The Voice’s Blind Auditions, part 3. They wowed the audience — and then got engaged. When judge Blake Shelton asked if they were married, Jubal got on one knee and popped the question. She said yes! Although they joined Team Pharrell, they hope Shelton performs at their wedding! The couple seems ready for marriage — a lot of what they’ve learned about making music can be applied to making a marriage work. Jubal said of their album On a Dark Highway, “It’s never gonna be exactly the way you want it—that’s a hard lesson you’ve gotta learn when you’re making records.” He added, “Tryin’ to go for that pure technical perfection, you kinda drain the life out of things, but if you can get to ‘pretty damn happy,’ that’s a good time to quit.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
