In the newly released film The Perfect Guy, Leah (Sanaa Lathan) is on the rebound. After separating from her longtime boyfriend Dave (Morris Chestnut), Leah meets a stranger at a bar, Carter Duncan, and falls hard. On the surface, he appears like The Perfect Guy. He’s handsome, a gentleman, the sex is great, and he even butters up Leah’s father with tickets to the Giants game. But this isn’t a romcom. It’s a thriller. Carter snaps and because so obsessive, Leah turns to her old boyfriend Dave for help.
Carter is portrayed by Michael Ealy. He’s best known for his role as Ricky Nash in the Barbershop films. He went on to star in the 2 Fast 2 Furious and the Think Like a Man films. Ealy is no stranger to creepy roles. He recently played serial killer Theo opposite Kevin Bacon on The Following. Fun fact: Ealy has also starred in many music videos including Mariah Carey’s “Get Your Number” and Beyonce’s “Halo,” which has been viewed more than 309 million times.
