Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of giant investment house Goldman Sachs, announced he has cancer. Blankfein revealed his cancer is a form of lymphoma that he characterized as “highly curable.” The powerful banker will undergo chemotherapy for the “next several months.”
Blankfein also said in his statement that his doctors have advised him that during treatment he will “be able to work substantially as normal, leading the firm.” He will, however, change some travel plans in order to accommodate his chemotherapy treatment. The cancer was discovered after a biopsy was performed; Blankfein hadn’t been feeling up to par and reported his condition to his doctors.
