Depending on your outlook, this story is either a bizarre near-miss … or a discarded storyline from the Breaking Bad writers room … or like, just, wow, unreal, man. An Arizona woman awoke to discover that a massive bag of marijuana weighing 26 pounds fell from the sky and crushed her doghouse. Maya Donnelly lives in Nogales, right up against the Mexican border, and assuming the large package contained drugs instead of tacos, pinatas, or the heart of a rooster to be devoured by Salma Hayek in a ritual to the gods of eternal youth and beauty, Donnelly called the police.
The package turned out to contain $10,000 worth of marijuana, and probably fell from a pilotless drone. “Someone definitely made a mistake, and who knows what the outcome of that mistake might be for them,” local Police Chief Derek Arnson commented, reports the Guardian. The family dog, by the way, is safe and sound. In unrelated news, Nogales realtors are reporting a rise in inquiries from Colorado snowbirds.
