Mark Zuckerberg has done numerous impressive things in his young life, including creating Facebook and becoming one of the richest men in the world. Oh, and starting a book club. But perhaps the most impressive thing Zuckerberg has done until now is to learn Chinese. It’s not like the man isn’t busy, but what learning takes is desire and inspiration — that combo topples obstacles like so many dropping dominoes. Last year Zuckerberg absolutely wowed crowds at Tsinghua University in Beijing by giving his talk — and answering questions! — in Chinese. (And by all accounts, a pretty impressive command of Chinese.)

Back to that inspiration and desire: Mark Zuckerberg learned Chinese to become even closer to his wife, Priscilla Chan. (And, c’mon, to impress her! MZ is a romantic — there’s something Fincher and Sorkin missed.) Zuckerberg and Chan just announced they’re expecting a baby girl. The candid and heartfelt announcement from Zuckerberg included news of three miscarriages that preceded the new joyful pregnancy. Zuckerberg and Chan have been together for a dozen years and were married in 2012. They met in college. More than a million and a half people liked the news.
