The new horror film Goodnight Mommy is the story of 9-year-old twin boys who live in the countryside. Their mother has returned from the hospital. Her face is bandaged after having cosmetic surgery. The boys notice she’s acting differently, strangely — doing things like walking through the forest naked.
The boys begin to believe the woman in their house isn’t their mother. They pray for their real mother to return while trying to scare the stranger out of their house, e.g. placing bugs in her bed, wearing scary masks by her bedside. The mother is played by Austrian actress Susanne Wuest. The twins are portrayed by Elias and Lukas Schwarz. Goodnight Mommy will be released in the US on September 11.
