NBA MVP Steph Curry is renowned for a lot of things he doesn’t do. He doesn’t sky-walk like most of the current NBA greats. He rarely dunks. Indeed he’s become a unique fan favorite because he plays a style of game that regular folks envision that they too could play — if only they were awesome.
But sometimes the bad-ass NBA sends the jump-shooting, ball-handling wizard a message that this is not, damn it, Bob Cousy‘s league anymore. Sometimes, especially in the Finals, if you go to the basket hard late in the game and you expect to score surrounded by the world’s greatest athletes — you’ve got to throw it down. The finger roll just may not get it done. That’s what All-Star MVP Kyrie Irving communicated to league MVP Steph Curry with this spectacular left-handed game-saving block late in the fourth quarter. Gotta dunk that, Steph!
