Mars makes some pretty tasty treats — Snickers, M&Ms, Twix, to name just a few — but the candy company wants people to watch their consumption. Indeed, Mars agrees with public health recommendations that caution people to limit sugar intake. That’s limit, not eliminate — so maybe when it comes to M&Ms, eat just one color per sitting? In a statement, Mars joins a trend of food companies adding healthier choices and transparency to their labels so consumers can make informed choices.
“Supporting global public health efforts to limit society’s consumption of added sugars and labeling our products transparently are steps in the right direction for us and will benefit everyone who enjoys Mars products,” said the company.
