Actor Malik Yoba, who most recently played Vernon Turner on the hit drama Empire, was surprised when he learned that Vernon was being killed off the show after just one season. But don’t worry about Yoba, he’s already working on another set. He’s in a new action thriller called Paradox.
What is troubling Yoba is the media’s response to Vernon’s death on Empire. Yoba did such a convincing acting job in the season finale that some publications are reporting that Yoba was fired due to drugs. (The fictional character Vernon did cocaine before Rhonda accidentally killed him.) Yoba is trying to calmyly dispell the rumors.
