On The Mindy Project, Dr. Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) struggles with her body image as her baby bump begins to show. So she agrees to meet with Tamra’s aspiring personal stylist cousin, Sheena. Awkward funny business will ensue as usual on The Mindy Project, which airs Tuesdays at 9:30pm on Fox.
Sheena is portrayed by Laverne Cox who’s best known for her role as Sophia Burset on Orange Is the New Black. Cox most recently had a role in the highly acclaimed indie film Grandma with legendary comedian Lily Tomlin. Cox is currently taking a break from the fun stuff and filming the dramatic CBS TV pilot Doubt. It’s about a successful defense lawyer (KaDee Strickland of Secrets and Lies) who becomes romantically involved with a client (Teddy Sears of Masters of Sex, American Horror Story) who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. Cox will co-star as Cameron, “a fierce and funny, competitive and compassionate transgender Ivy League-educated attorney.”
