23-year-old Mirjana Puhar, who competed on America’s Next Top Model, was shot and killed in North Carolina along with her boyfriend and another friend according to TMZ. “Law enforcement sources tell us the preliminary investigation leads police to believe the murders were drug related — and the victims knew the killer.”
Puhar, who went by the social media and catwalk name “queen M,” had posted a remarkable 130,000 tweets since 2010. It’s that kind of engagement Tyra Banks referenced in her statement. Puhar was just 18 back in 2010 when Banks, the host and executive producer of the show, sent Puhar home on episode 10 of the 21st season of America’s Next Top Model. Banks and co-producer Ken Mok said in a statement today: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic news about Mirjana Puhar. She was a vivacious and promising young woman.”
