NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon has announced that 2015 will be his last season. He’s had an impressive career on the track and off. On the track he has won four championships, 92 races and $146 million in prize money. Off the track, he’s had fun hosting Saturday Night Live and done good with his Jeff Gordon Foundation, which has raised more than $15 million to fight children’s cancer.
In 2012, he donated $1.5 million to help start the Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence in Rwanda, a cancer-referral center. For his charity work in Africa, Gordon was invited to the White House for a state dinner back in 2012. President Obama heard about Gordon break dancing at a NASCAR Champions Week event and asked Gordon to show his moves, right there, in front of the leaders of various African nations. We’re not sure why Gordon declined — he’s not bad. Check him out at the NASCAR event (4:15 is where Gordon drops to the floor).
