Former governor of Arkansas (1996-2007) Mike Huckabee is leaving his political commentary show Huckabee on Fox News to consider a 2016 presidential run. He said on air on Saturday: “As much as I have loved doing the show, I cannot bring myself to rule out another presidential run.” Huckabee ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 – John McCain earned it and lost to Barack Obama. Huckabee said he’ll make his final decision about a 2016 run in late spring.
Huckabee is receiving praise for his recent decision to mull it over from fans on social media–even from some Democrats. Brandon M. Liller wrote on Huckabee’s Facebook page: “As a democrat I wish you the best. I’ve enjoyed reading these posts and watching you on Fox over the years. And as things stand right now, you have my vote. Good luck Mike.”
