Without George Clooney the levity level of the Golden Globes would automatically drop three notches. The handsome Clooney, a prankster himself, is a jovial target. And lucky for him, each dig just seems to push him further toward the top of the world. Last night Golden Globes host Tina Fey took aim at Clooney using his new wife as her ammunition: “Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an advisor to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three person UN commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a Lifetime Achievement Award!”
Yet hard to top last year, when she said: “Gravity is nominated for best film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.” For the record Amal is 17 years younger than George.
