The color company Pantone has selected Marsala (18-1438) as the color of 2015. Pantone describes it as “an impactful, full-bodied and elegant grounded statement.” Last year, the color of the year was Radiant Orchid.
Most people associate Marsala with sauce, chicken and Italian wine. Perhaps that’s why Pantone chose a kitchen for the backdrop of its Marsala print advertisement. It features a woman sitting coyly on a kitchen cutting block with a handsome man approaching, and another woman walking onto the scene. We’re not sure if the second woman approves of the sexual tension brewing in the kitchen, but all three do wear the color Marsala well.
