NFL defensive end Darnell Dockett of the Arizona Cardinals reposted a photo of Malia Obama on his Instagram account. It wasn’t an innocent portrait of the 16-year-old, it was a photo of her backside with the caption “When is her prom?” Dockett apparently thought it was hilarious, and reposted the pic with the caption: “Lmfaoooo.” Women, particularly, African American women are pissed. Yesha Callahan of The Root writes: “Dockett, you are a grown-ass man ogling a 16-year-old, who happens to be the president’s daughter. How would you feel if a 30-something man were eyeing your teen daughter? Probably not so great.” She went on, “In the words of Chris Hansen, have a seat.”
Jas Bailey took to Twitter: “#rapeculture in #blackculture is the astounding silence black men and women will exhibit against this trash ass behavior #DarnellDockett.”
