Academy Award-winning actress Julia Roberts – aka Pretty Woman – is the 2015 spring face for French fashion house Givenchy. In the moody black-and-white photos taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (they also shot Givenchy’s Fall 2014’s face, Kendall Jenner), Roberts looks downright down. But that’s intentional! Hollywood’s sweetheart, known for that killer megawatt million dollar smile, was asked not to show it.
Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci (BBF of performing artist Marina Abramovic) warned Roberts that there would be no makeup or hair or smiling. Tisci told WWD that he “decided to make her more intellectual, more serious, more pure.” Roberts is clearly wearing makeup but the hell with details!
