British singer Ellie Goulding will sing Beating Heart from the Divergent soundtrack, live for the first time at the MTV Movie Awards. DJ Zedd – with Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant – will perform Find You also from the soundtrack. Conan O’Brien (who will not sing) will host the televised awards ceremony on Sunday, April 13, 2015 at 9pm on MTV.
Goulding is known to express raw emotion in concert. As THR wrote: “The singer’s lovely, sometimes raspy voice always retains a sense of airiness, regardless of her lyrics, but Goulding skillfully manipulates that voice to fully convey each song’s sensibility.” In Beating Heart, a song about being away from someone you really love, she sings: “Wanna hear your beating heart tonight / Before the bleeding sun comes alive / I want to make the best of what is left, hold tight / And hear my beating heart one last time / Before daylight.”
