Less than two weeks before Buffalo Bills quarterback Kyle Orton surprisingly retired from the NFL today, his wife Bridget LaBorde Orton posted a sweet photo of them smiling at the TimeWarnerCable stadium, on Facebook. Orton said [of his retirement] in a statement, “I just have been going at it for 10 years and it’s just a family decision and I’ve decided to get home and be a dad and call it a day.”
Some of Orton’s teammates were surprised. “I didn’t expect him to announce it so soon, or to announce it at all,” running back Fred Jackson said. The Buffalo Bills will enter the offseason with second-year quarterback EJ Manuel and 23-year-old Jeff Tuel, who said, “We learned a lot under Kyle.” From the look of the photo, Kyle and Bridget are definitely on the same team. Did he surprise her, too?
