Bowdoin College offered to pay the full tuition of Justin Ramos, a Bowdoin sophomore whose father was one of the NYPD officers murdered on Saturday. The president of Bowdoin, Barry Mills, called the slaying what it was: an unspeakable tragedy. The college said in a statement that it is “eager to welcome Justin back to campus for the start of our second semester in January, or whenever he is ready to return, and we will do everything we can to support him through this period. In the meantime, we will respect his privacy and that of his family as they deal with this terrible loss.”
Bowdoin is one of the top colleges in the country. Tuition plus housing and board at Bowdoin is $57,834 a year. Ramos has two and a half years left.
