Actress Ashley Judd (Divergent, Kiss the Girls) is starring in Big Stone Gap, a film based on Adriana Trigiani’s debut novel of the same title. Big Stone Gap refers to the tiny town where Trigiani was born in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. The 46-year-old actress Judd plays Ave Maria Mulligan, a self-proclaimed spinster at 35 who one day discovers that “she’s not who she always thought she was.”
Trigiani is the writer and director of the film Big Stone Gap. During the early 1990s, she was an award winning writer/producer of The Cosby Show and the spin-off A Different World. The film Big Stone Gap also stars Whoopi Goldberg, who has voiced her support of Bill Cosby as he faces numerous accusations of rape. “Until you know if it’s true, it’s an allegation. That’s what it is.”
