A San Francisco tour guide, apparently on her last day of work (we hope), went on a racist tirade against the city’s Chinatown district. The f-bomb filled diatribe was captured by a German passenger on the open-air tour bus as it traveled through the area. The tour guide seems to have it in for Chinatown preschools and preschoolers, nail salons, herb gardens, and markets filled with turtles and frogs, but she really reserves her hatred for all the quaint things that people generally like about any Chinatown: parades, dragons, knockoff purses, and jade. Although she likes dim sum. “Dim sum can stay. I like dim sum.”
The smattering of applause and chants of “F*ck Chinatown!” from the tourists makes the NSFW video especially bizarre. As NSFW racist rants on the Internet go, it’s pretty raw, but as a rant against a city’s melting pot, it doesn’t have a patch on this. Who knows why this woman hates Chinatown so much. Maybe Jake Gittes knows.
