NASA has opened up its own Soundcloud account. More than 60 samples are available including “Houston, we’ve had a problem” and “the Eagle has landed.” If that’s too mainstream for you, no worries, you can tap into some pretty weird abstract noises, too.
NASA does a good job in titling the sounds. “Chorus Radio Waves within Earth’s Atmosphere” is tempting (listen below!) As is the alluring “We’re Going to Dust it Off first” sample. The new NASA sound library compliments the agency’s extensive picture library, which is also available for public consumption.
