Mark Zuckerberg participated in a Q&A in Beijing yesterday, and wowed the crowd by conducting the session in Mandarin. The Facebook billionaire apologized to the audience for his insufficient mastery of the language, saying “My Chinese is horrible but I want to try to speak Chinese today. I maybe need more practice.” His efforts were met with cheers and applause. Zuckerberg’s reason for learning the language is simple: his wife Priscilla is Chinese. “Her family speaks Chinese. Her grandmother speaks Chinese only. So I wanted to talk to them.”
