He’s popular and lovable and all kinds of sincere, but did you know Ed Sheeran was also Cupid? Getting engaged is supposed to be memorable. People do it on top of mountains, at the Eiffel Tower, at ball games on the big screen. But the newest hot spot for betrothals is an Ed Sheeran show–and the way it’s going recently, there’s going to be a whole bunch of Sheeran-hitched couples in the future.
At Monday night’s Sheeran show in London, five couples got engaged. They’ll probably form some kind of club. The 23-year-old Sheeran, who has traveled from homelessness to stardom, has so far lived a life that’s probably a pretty good road map for marriage. Bumps and struggles matched with heart and courage. The BBC reports that the young star told the couples: “And don’t forget that when the day comes, Ed is a great name for a baby boy or girl. Edward, Eddie, Edwina, or even Edmund.”
