Former lead singer of The Smiths, Morrissey, has cancer. He described his certain health to El Mundo this way: “They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever. If I die, then I die.” While speaking to Madrid’s El Pais, Morrissey offer his “seven secrets” of the music industry. #1: “The number one position on the charts is normally bought.”
Morrissey is promoting his latest album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, his first full-length album since his 2009 Years Of Refusal. Stereogum’s Timothy Bracy and Elizabeth Bracy wrote about Morrissey and World Peace: “While a very few artists have ever mixed the personal and political with greater deftness, it is also true that at his worst Morrissey’s didactic pedantry verges on insufferable.” However, they conclude that “Even at his most sonically dissonant and tonally untethered, he often knows more than the rest of us.”
