Actor Patrick Dempsey is famous for his role as Derek on the primetime drama Grey’s Anatomy, which kicks off its eleventh season on Thursday, September 25 at 8/7c on ABC. But what fans might be surprised to learn about is his next movie deal.
Patrick Dempsey will star in a 99-minute comedy/drama/family film called Mission: S.O.P. about a 10-year-old girl (portrayed by the director’s daughter Priscilla Schmidt) who plans a mission to save her family by Christmas. Dempsey plays the girl’s father and former NBA player-turned-North Korean ally Dennis Rodman has a role in the film as “School Trainer Anthony.” Director Gabriel Schmidt is a big fan of the NBA, and he credits actor/comedian Tom Arnold for bringing him into the film industry. Together they wrote the screenplay for SPYchosis, a comedy about an actor who, with a nurse, gets caught in a network of deadly espionage. Jamie Lee Curtis and John Savage (Deer Hunter, The Godfather, The Thing Red Line) will star. SPYchosis, which also has a role for Gabriel’s daughter Priscilla, will be released in 2016.
