President Obama attended a birthday party for Chicagoan Ann Jordan, wife of civil rights activist Vernon Jordan, while vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. The Clintons were there (Jordan was a close adviser to President Bill Clinton), so was Kenneth Chenault (CEO of American Express), Valerie Jarrett (Obama adviser and cousin of Ann Jordan), and Ursula Burns (CEO of Xerox).
Principal Deputy Press secretary Eric Schultz reported from the event at the Farm Neck Golf Club via his iPhone. After some pretty dull updates he added “a little color” to the report: “The Obamas danced nearly every song.” No word about a slow dance featuring Bill and Hillary.
