Melanie Griffith is walking the red carpet alone this week in Switzerland promoting her role in the short dramatic film Thirst. After recently announcing her divorce from husband of 18-years Antonio Banderas, Griffith is “joyful” to be moving on with her life. But there’s one catch. There will soon be another red carpet premiere for a feature sci-fi film she’s in, Autómata, which also stars her now ex-husband Antonio Banderas. Awkward!
The good news is: the divorce is pushing Griffith back toward comedy. (It’s been 26 years since Working Girl!) Griffith reports that she’ll join the cast of Pippin on Broadway (in January 2015) and she’s signed on to do a “silly comedy” with her stand-up friend Bob Saget (Full House).
