Andie MacDowell is one of those actresses whose success sneaks up on you. Other than those L’Oreal commercials, she’s never in your face but she’s been in a ton of blockbuster cult classics including Groundhog Day, Four Funerals and a Wedding, and St. Elmo’s Fire. MacDowell is now starring in Hallmark Channel’s first scripted TV series, Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove.
To promote the forthcoming season of Cedar Cove, MacDowell was recently interviewed by Parade magazine. Because she’s 56 years old and aging gracefully, she is often asked about her physical regimen. For the Parade interview MacDowell was asked which one bad health habit would you undo? MacDowell revealed that she worries too much. “I’ve started taking the supplement GABA, [a neurotransmitter], and I don’t have anxiety like I used to.” Some medical opinion says that GABA (Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid) taken as a supplement does not reach the brain and has no effect or benefit aside from being a benign placebo.
