Fifteen-year-old Canadian singing sensation Shawn Mendes is going to perform his entire album “The Shawn Mendes EP” live on Livestream tonight. He launched his career by posting cover songs to Vine. He won Ryan Seacreast’s “Best 35 Covers” Competition (he won by singing “Say Anything”) and now he has over a million followers on Twitter and a deal with Island Records. His sweet, boyish looks and charm are winning.
Mendes is the youngest artist to debut a song (“Life of the Party”) on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is written by Ido Zmishlany and Scott Harris. When asked who he’d like to collaborate with in the future, Mendes said Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, or Logic. After tonight’s performance, he’ll probably get that chance. Bieber is repped by Island Records, too, and could use a dose of good PR.
