Did you know that Dwayne Johnson is wrestling royalty? Not only is his father Rocky Johnson in the WWE Hall of Fame, his grandfather Peter Maivia is in the WWE Hall of Fame too, according to a fun story at Mandatory. This summer The Rock is Hercules, but before that–and even before wrestling–Johnson played football at the University of Miami. He once told a late night talk show host that he was pretty excited about a pro football career until Warren Sapp, the future NFL Hall of Famer, showed up on campus at Miami. Seeing Sapp, who was bigger, stronger, and faster than he was, The Rock knew he had to make other plans!
Those other plans have worked out pretty well for Dwayne Johnson. In 2013 he was the top-grossing actor according to Forbes. Films starring The Rock brought in $1.3 billion worldwide, more than half of it from the giant hit Fast & Furious 6.
